Chapter 45. Gunpoint
I was now alone, standing outside with my heart pounding in my chest. I could still feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins, making me feel like I could run for miles without rest.
It was like my body felt like I was in danger, and it was giving me the fuel to either run or fight.
I ran my hand through my hair and then released a sigh before turning and walking away from the house. I glanced at it once more before looking away.
To think that used to be what I used to call home.
Did I feel guilty about what had just happened? Maybe a bit, but truthfully, I knew that it was the right thing to do. It was better to rip the bandaid off now than to let things get worse.
Me waiting would have done more damage. Lisa would have fallen even harder for Kevin and it would have just been too heavy for her.
And it was not like she wasn’t going to find out some way or the other, Kevin was slopp
