Chapter 49. Scared
I didn’t stop or look back once until I was outside. That was when I saw Giveon, he was talking with Kevin in his car.
I think he sensed my presence because he turned and looked my way. Maybe he really was right, that there was a connection between both of us.
But I had bigger fish to fry at the moment. So I watched him walk towards me, pretending like I wasn’t feeling butterflies in my stomach as he made his way over here.
“Are you okay? How did it go?” He asked, concern in his eyes. It was clear that he cared about me, but I just couldn’t brush off the voices of his friends and Maddie from my head—about this whole thing just being an obsession.
I sniffled dryly and ran my hand through my hair, glancing back at the building and watching Maddie walk out. She had a tight frown on her face and darkened eyes.
