Chapter 46. Heart to Heart
He sighed, using his free hand to run it through his hair. Then he lowered the gun and turned on the safety before tucking it in his waistband again, making sure to cover it up with his hoodie.
“You had no right,” I said to him, tears threatening to spill from my eyes as I stared at him. I put my hands down now that I was not at gunpoint anymore. “You had zero right to treat me the way you did. I deserved better.”
“I—I know…” he took a step closer to me, but I stepped back.
“I don’t want you near me.”
“Really? Sara, are you serious?”
“You literally had a gun pointed at me, Kevin! What do you expect?!” I exclaimed, and it felt good. My body was shaking due to the adrenaline, and my heart was thumping in my chest.
