Chapter 50. The Tables Have Turned
Lisa led the way, and we were in the living room in no time. My heart was thumping in my chest and I was so tempted to brush aside the whole reason I had come here.
But I knew that I couldn’t afford to do that. I knew that Kevin was not someone to play games with. As much as I wanted to say that I wasn’t afraid of him, it’d be a lie if I did.
I was kind of afraid of him. He was a powerful male werewolf with influence and connections in this town. He could ruin me if he wanted to, so there was a way that I was going to take his threat lightly.
Lisa and I sat down on the couch and she waited for me to say something, so I did. “Um…how are you doing?”
