Chapter 55. Now You Know

We were in the living room now, talking to each other. I had explained how the Queen had threatened me; about how I was given twelve hours to leave the town.

“She’s scared, that’s it. She’s scared that you’re back for the throne. She has ruled for twenty years and rumors have it that she may have been the one who killed her sister,” Noah explained.

“My mom.”

He nodded. “Yes, but we have no proof. It’s just rumors. Everyone was told that it was death by childbirth and we had no choice but to accept it.” He shrugged.

 “But what do you believe though?”

“I think she killed your mom. I don’t know how, but I just know. She wanted power. She wanted the throne and was willing to do anything to get it.”

I swallowed hard, taking in the information. “What was my mom like?”

Noah crossed his legs and smiled. “The kindest soul that this town ever knew. She looked just like you, and even talked like how you talk. You’re a spitting image of her.” He chuckled.
