Chapter 52. The Glow

The glow wasn’t going away. The more I stared at it, the brighter it got, making me even more scared. “What did you do?” I asked in panic as I tried to help by rubbing any skin, bit it didn’t help.

“Stop overreacting, you’re fine. It’s just a way to make sure that someone who claims to be a witch is one. We don’t allow people who aren’t like us into the town,” the man explained.

“Oh…so this is going to fade…?” The moment I asked the question, the glow started to slowly disappear in just a few seconds.

He nodded. “I’m a bit confused though, you said you’re a hybrid, right?”

I peeled my eyes away from my arm and looked at the guard. “Yeah, I am.”

He furrowed his brows and then replied, “Interesting.” He eyed me. “You have the glow of a full and powerful witch, Sara.”

I was taken aback that he called my name for the first few seconds, and then I remembered that I had told me. You can’t blame me, I was a bit shaken by all of this.

“I’m just a hybrid,”
