Chapter 54. Royalty

We stared at each other for a few long seconds, the tension building. I was usually a shy and timid person, but for some reason, I felt bold today.

“I’m not leaving until I learn more about my mom and about who I really am.”

Her frown deepened and she scoffed. “Twelve hours, dear. I expect you to be out of this town in twelve hours. If not, you will regret it,” She said, and then she proceeded to walk out of the room, leaving me there.

I stood there, trying to wrap my head around everything. Wow, I was royalty. Who would have thought? All my life, I had felt like I was nothing but trash.

And I was treated as such. So learning that I was royalty felt so surreal. And it kind of made me feel a bit better, I’m not going to lie.

But I stand by what I said, I just wanted a quiet and simple life. I did not want to be in the spotlight or be some hero. I just wanted a simple everyday life.
