Chapter 9. Aiden's Proposal

At that time, Aiden and Agneta were in the car heading to the office. Aiden asked about Regan’s condition because, when he picked Agneta up at her house, he didn’t see Regan.

“He is fine and still as cheerful as ever. I already told Regan not to accept anything from anyone, including my co-workers,” Agneta explained.

She was still upset when she remembered how Regan had left with Davero yesterday without anyone knowing. The anxiety from that incident still lingered in her mind.

“But I didn’t know there was an employee named Vero in our office, especially in your division,” Aiden said, still confused. That made Agneta’s stomach tighten, and her tongue felt stiff as she searched for an answer.

“He isn’t an employee at the office. Maybe I misspoke. He was a friend of mine from school, and we met again recently by coincidence,” Agneta replied without looking at Aiden.

“Oh, I see.” Aiden tried to believe her, especially since Agneta had never lied to him.
