Chapter 14. Davero's Suspicions
"What for?" asked Agneta as she put down her cutlery to focus on listening.
Actually, yesterday I didn't go to Barcelona. I just went to my parents' house," Aiden said. "I asked Davero to lie to you on purpose."
"Why do you have to lie?" asked Agneta, feeling very annoyed.
If only yesterday's Aiden had existed, last night's incident would never have happened and awakened Agneta's nightmare.
"I just don't want you to feel bad, and yesterday we talked a lot about our marriage."
"Is that so?" said Agnes doubtfully. "Aiden, I know they don't agree."
"It's not like that, Agnes."
"No, Aiden. Come on, don't dodge and lie to me. I've understood everything and realized that I'm just a widow with a child. I get it; your parents wanted better than me. They do that because they love you," said Agneta.
"No, Agnes. Give me some time to convince the two of them."
