Chapter 39. Voiceless
Emery’s POV
Terrence didn’t come back the whole day. I don’t know where he went. I wanted to know but I couldn’t bring myself to call him. I kept on staring at his number on my phone but I couldn’t press the call button.
Yes! I want him to know that what happened between us the other night doesn’t mean anything to me even when the fact that I did it with him made it special.
Guarding my heart was what I taught to myself because I’m afraid of getting hurt. I might lose myself. I might… ruin myself if I didn’t do this.
It was already 6 PM when the door swung open. An hour from now, we’re going back home.
My eyes followed Terrence’s movement. I was sitting on the couch. Our luggage is beside me. His eyes landed on the luggage before he casually landed his eyes on me.
“I already called a taxi.” His voice was cold and flat.
