Chapter 13
“What do you mean by you don’t know if she’s dead or alive? Did you not confirm it?” Mr. Davenport yelled at them, drawing the attention of others in the house.
The veins on his neck stood at attention while a thousand thoughts ran through his head at the same time. His daughter was found.
But no one knew if she was dead or alive. It was heartbreaking for him. He prayed silently that she should be alive. He made a firm resolve to make everything right if she eventually made it alive.
He couldn’t bear to think of the worst about her. He could only keep his fingers crossed while he prayed for her to return home safe and sound.
His loud voice reverberated through the house, and every other person present at home rushed toward him as he bellowed furiously to the poor person on the other side of the line.
They rushed to his study, where he was still with Michael. They got there and met both father and son, having anxious looks on their faces.
