He watched me with disdain.
“How come you never mentioned it to me?” he asked me, looking confused and worried.
“I couldn’t because I know you act on impulse. Any little information, and you snap. I didn’t want you in danger or anyone to be hurt all because of me.”
“And your brother… how sure are you that he was in the plane and was involved in the crash?” Ronan asked, looking sorry for me.
“Jasper wanted to run far, and I knew that was the best option for him. I would have booked the immediate next flight if I were the same. Besides, it’s been years, and he hasn’t even made just one attempt to reach out to me, which tells me he is dead. And if he isn’t, I think Antonio would be stalking him, not me, and making his life a living hell,” I explained again, letting out all my pent-down anger, frustration, and pain.
I walked out toward my bag, which I had packed two weeks ago, and never unpacked, just in case of any other opportunities.
