Chapter 8. Handcuffed
Leah’s POV
I have heard dogs barking. I owned dogs when I was younger…until my dad died. But never in my life have I heard a dog bark this loud and powerful.
The cold air of the night slapped my face as I ran. I did not stop, I just kept going. My heart was racing and sweat formed on my forehead. I had no idea where I was even heading because the property that I was on was huge.
But I did not let that stop me. I kept going. I kept running until I saw bright lights shining in my face. Did that stop me? Not really. I kept going. I kept running. I know that I was heading towards the light and that was probably a bad idea but I just could not stop.
I couldn’t. Stopping would mean that I would be giving up. Stopping would mean that I won’t ever get to see my mom again. Stopping would mean that she would have to get the news of me going missing.
