Chapter 9. Another Country
Leah’s POV
A dream. This had to be a dream or something. But if it was, then why couldn’t I wake up? If this was a dream or nightmare, why did it feel so real then?
“Leah?”
I looked up, Jules’s voice pulling me out of my thoughts. “Mm-hmm?” I was on the verge of breaking down but I was trying my best to be strong. Not just for me, but for my mom. Mainly for her, if I was being honest.
Thinking about everything that had happened in the last few hours, I was tempted to blame Vanessa. Maybe it was because I was just looking for someone to blame, but come to think of it, if she had not kicked me out of her party all because she was emotional, I would have never been in that car crash.
If she would have never crashed out on me for no reason other than she was looking for someone to hurt because she was hurt, then I would have been home with my mom right now.
