Leila’s POV

“Did you hear about the kiss? It was in the garden!”

My heart raced. Just down the hall, guards’ voices were loud and clear, too close to ignore. They didn’t know I was hidden around the corner, listening to every word.

“Yeah,” another replied, “Luca and Leila? Didn’t see that coming, but with everything Dominic’s done for her and her brother… maybe it’s no surprise.”

My stomach twisted. How did they know? How fast had this spread?

I backed away silently, then spun and ran down the hall, breath quickening. Dominic couldn’t find out this way. I burst into Luca’s room, mind reeling, not even bothering to knock.
