Adeline’s POV
I turned to look at Theodore. My nerves were stretched thin. I had had enough already. More than I could even actually take and I had had it up to the very last thread.
Without another word, I stepped outside. I needed air, space, something. He followed right behind me.
“Theodore, please!” I burst out, spinning around to face him. “What are you trying to do? Do you know how you made me look there? I had no idea about anything you were saying right in front of Ezra...”
“It wouldn’t be bad to host him before he leaves, would it?” he asked me.
“There was no need for you to come in there and bring me flowers.”
“Why? Aren’t you my wife? I can show you off anywhere.”
“I’m just Adeline, Theodore,” I said quietly. “And you need to let me go.”
“Why? Because of King Ezra?”
“There you go again, believing Iris once again.”
“It’s not about me believing in Iris. I just don’t want him to get too comfortable around you
