Chapter 136. Sweet Scent

Rufus’s POV

It was at the very point I had gotten back into my pick-up truck when I received a call. Panicking at the sound of the ringtone, I hoped it would be Freya. Whether she was pissed at me, or happy to hear my voice, it made no difference. I just wanted to hear my mate’s beautiful melodic voice, regardless.

“Dad,” Sienna spoke at the end of the call. “Where are you?” her tone sounded serious and a little panicked.

“I’m just heading home from town, is everything okay?” I asked, my heart began to pound in my chest as I questioned my daughter.

“It’s Freya,” Sienna paused, and it was then I felt my chest tighten with the fear of her next words. “She went out earlier, and she hasn’t come back,” Sienna’s voice wobbled with her fear. “Dad, she isn’t answering her phone either, which isn’t like her. I’m worried.”

“Alright Sie,” I said, the pounding from my pulse echoed in my head as the ideas of what trouble Freya was getting herself into swirled
