Chapter 141. Elaine’s Escape
Elaine’s POV
I woke up, my eyelids felt heavy as my head pounded with pain. The last thing I remembered was my evil son, Nathan slamming his fists against my head.
Opening my eyes, my vision blurred for a second or two before I recognized the familiar surroundings of the basement of the pack house. I was still chained up, the restraints chafing against my wrists. I knew it was useless to pull on the chains any longer, they were far too tightly bound for me to release them, even just a little.
‘Why doesn’t he just kill us?’ I reached out my wolf, feeling around for her in the darkest depths of my mind. Since being captured by Nathan, my wolf was incredibly weak. As much as I reached out to her, she barely responded ‘Put us out of our misery’. I made another attempt to contact Yolandi, but she remained silent.
‘I can’t feel you,’ I said to Yolandi, my voice trembling as I spoke in my mind ‘Are you dead? Are we dying?’
