Chapter 139. The Next Day
Freya’s POV
As I awoke, the sunlight stung my eyes as it seeped in from the curtains. My head was pounding from the night before, and as I sat up in bed, gripping the sides of my head, the memories came back to me.
“Ughhhh,” I moaned, feeling the hammering pain in my head. It had been a while since I had consumed any alcohol to that extreme, and I instantly regretted it.
‘You’re a fool,’ Elara husked as she entered my mind ‘An irresponsible, immature fool,’ her voice frightened me slightly as she barked her words ‘I am so disappointed in you, Freya.’
‘I know, I know,’ I sighed with disappointment in myself ‘I was an idiot, I shouldn’t have turned to alcohol.’
‘No, you shouldn’t!’ Elara yelled ‘You almost got yourself killed last night! You should know better. You have a husband, and a family to think of now. I am utterly…’
I had to shut my wolf up, her voice rang in my head like a drum and I couldn’t bear her words right now.
