Freya’s POV
“Can I help?” I asked Milo, my eyes studying the mass of empty plastic cups, food and rubbish strewn across the floor and surfaces of the kitchen. “It could make the job quicker with two.”
“No Freya,” Milo said with a smile, collecting plastic cups which he dropped into a trash bag. “Dad’s right you know, I should start accepting some responsibility.”
I flashed Milo a smug smile. “What’s this? Are you maturing into a man now?”
Milo laughed, nudging me with his elbow. “You don’t know me well enough to make such cheeky comments young lady,” he brushed past me to get to another few cups. “And anyway, you’re a guest, you should be enjoying yourself.”
