Sienna’s POV
“Is Freya not back yet?” I asked after my Father had walked in, his face red and flustered. Did he run back from the store?
“No,” Rufus grunted. “She’s still out job hunting,” he said, dropping himself onto a dining chair to pull his boots off. “Place looks nice,” he looked at me with a smile.
“Thanks Daddio,” Milo said, approaching my side. “I did it all by myself,” I watched as he boasted to our Father. “Aren’t you proud of me? I can take responsibility after all.”
Rufus raised a brow. “Really? All on your own?” He leant off the chair to gaze at the floor. “The tiles are gleaming.”
I could already tell that he wasn’t convinced, and switched his gaze to me while he gave me a sly wink. “Oh sure Milo, all by yourself,” he chuckled. “You’re a real adult now.”
