Chapter 19. Trust Us

Asher POV

I kept my eyes fixed on Suzie, as tears cascaded down her cheeks. Her tears, her words, I had no expected them at all. Her words but me deep, like a knife, cutting through my heart. I had hurt Suzie, terribly and I was clueless on how to make her feel better.

“Suz-”

“Pull over Asher,” Suzie said again.

I sighed. I knew Suzie was not the type to flare up and get angry for no reason. Her words held a certain meaning to them and I completely understood her she was feeling. She had been treated like a toy, a punching bag all her life, by her father.

I knew she was scared that I and my brothers, would treat her the same way, like a you, and just discard her once we were done playing with her. But that was far from the case. I wanted Suzie to know how much she meant to us.

It hurt me, deep to the core that my words had made her feel like she was just a prostitute, a toy to us, when she was more than that. I had to be more
