Chapter 52. Echoed
"Papa!" Elijah shouted as he waved on the other side of the road. He yelled as if he wasn't in pain.
"Papa!" The little kid screamed for the second time as he ran toward his father, Dylan.
"Wait, Elijah! Don't run!" Dylan reminded, nervous upon seeing a fast-approaching vehicle.
He wanted to sprint toward his son but couldn't move his feet for some reason.
When he looked back at Elijah, the latter had already stopped in the middle of the road, staring mindlessly at the fast-approaching car.
"Argh! This can't be happening. I need to do something! Elijah!" Dylan shouted at the top of his lungs.
Even though he struggled to make a move, he forced himself to step forward, thinking, 'I need to save my son! Fuck!'
Suddenly, a loud sound echoed in the living room as Dylan fell from the sofa. "Ouch," he groaned, rubbing his forehead.
