Chapter 6. Reunion

Penelope’s pulse was racing so fast that she felt faint and out of breath as she imagined Dylan seeing Elijah. She grabbed Elijah’s hands, who appeared bewildered and in quest of an answer, but she didn’t mind because all that mattered right now was getting out of there and removing Elijah before Dylan discovered the similarities between him and Elijah.

Fortunately, Dylan appeared perplexed.

“Mom?” Elijah inquired, allowing her to tug him outside the restroom. They headed toward the entrance and saw Lucas.

“Let’s go home...” she muttered, her head falling on Lucas’ chest.

Lucas was perplexed as to what had occurred while he was not present. He looked down at Elijah, who only shrugged. As soon as they arrived at the nearby car park, Lucas saw that Penelope was deep in concentration and not in her typical mood. She remained silent and simply nodded when Elijah asked if she was all right.
