Sky sneered at Rachel’s question.

“Why does Mama sound like Papa? Don’t you like Uncle Edmund too, Mama?”

“No, it’s not like that.” Rachel glanced behind her briefly. Not finding Lucas, she lowered her voice. “Mama likes him too. He can make you laugh, and he is also caring. I’m glad you have a friend like him, even though he is a little strange and mysterious.”

“Well then,” Sky sat up, “how about Mama joins me in welcoming him later? I can choose an easy job for you.”

“We can make a crown from twigs. When Uncle Edmund comes, Mama can put the crown on his head.”
