Aaron POV
I stared as she walked out of the mall, head tipped back, laughing at something Astrid must have said—judging by the grin on Astrid’s face too.
Her hair was tied into a messy bun, and the sweatshirt she wore—mine, anyway—did a decent job concealing her pregnancy. We’d agreed not to tell anyone yet except her colleagues and Rhoda, so she tried her best to cover up.
Until the baby was born, I didn’t trust anyone. Anyone could be a threat.
She crossed the street, green eyes darting around—not looking for me. She didn’t know I was here. I’d tracked her location since her GPS was saved on my phone.
Her gaze swept over my car. Our eyes met. I raised a brow. She looked away. Her brows drew together and then she glanced back.
My lips lifted as recognition sparked in her eyes. She gave a shy smile, said something to Astrid, and both of them walked in my direction. I stepped out of the car, my eyes on their shopping bags.
