Chapter 119. Revelation
Aaron POV
I stepped into the old warehouse. It was already creepy enough that he asked to meet here.
My eyes darted around as I clutched the jacket closer to myself. The file Joan had requested was in my pocket. Somehow, I’d managed to fit it in.
She’d woken up before I left—not after demanding I get her ice cream on my way back. So, the quicker I got this over with, the better.
I glanced at my wristwatch. 7:59 p.m. He wasn’t here still.
At exactly 8:00 p.m., I felt movement behind me. I spun around quickly, my eyes falling on a figure in the dark next to the door.
I cocked my head slightly as the person walked in and into the light.
He had a face cap pulled low and a hoodie over his head, which he removed, letting brown strands of hair fall over his shoulders.
Okay. Long-haired. Not what I expected.
He ran his hands through his hair before his eyes locked on mine. I watched him intently, slowly memorizing his features.
