Chapter 25. The Girlfriend

Maureen's POV

Lucia's birthday was finally here and I had decided to get her a gift even if she insisted she wanted to be with her parents alone. 

I had asked Lance to come with me but he said he had other things to attend to. Lance was the one who advised that I asked Dominus.

When I called Dominus he was more than happy to come along. He said he would like to get Lucia a gift himself and would want to get my opinion on it. 

Lance also asked me to buy a gift for Lucia on his behalf. Although I didn't know what business he wanted to take care of that made him leave me in Dominus' care, I didn't question him. 

The previous day, he had returned home late. I asked him where he had been and he shouted at me asking if he was a toddler that needed monitoring. 

He later came to me to apologise and I forgave him thinking there must be something bothering him which he didn't want to share yet. 

Dominus and I had to go gift shopping
