Chapter 26. Worrisome

I stood open mouthed staring at Maureen. How could her eyes be gold in color? It was pure insanity to imagine it. 

'Maureen, why are your eyes that color?' I asked worriedly. 

'What color?' Her voice even sounded different.

'Your eyes' color is all shade of wrong Reen,' I said backing away from her as she came closer. I was not moving away from fear but it seemed the best thing to do in that situation.

'What is it Lance?' She asked looking confused. Suddenly her eyes went back to normal.

I released a sigh of relief. 'Your eyes changed color just now. Are you ok Reen?' 

'I am ok Lance,' she said but she suddenly looked at me suspiciously. 'Are you pulling this stunt just to get out of what you did?' 

'I am not lying Reen. Your eyes are not supposed to change color until you get your wolf, even if you have, how can it be that color? I have never seen that color in my life,' I said with surprise still evident in m
