Chapter 102. A Secret

Layla’s POV

It took everything for me to convince Ezra to let me come to this place, I understand why he thinks it’s dangerous, but there is no way I am taking chances.

Orion invited me over to his company for tea. It was an unexpected invitation, but I decided it was an opportunity to get closer to him.

As I walked into his company, I felt like I was entering a place that was once mine. The glass doors opened up for me, and the veins of the shining floor reflected the bright lights above.

There was a lingering scent of fresh polish and some perfume, no doubt meant to impress visitors.

The employees there walked quickly by, papers in one hand and phones in another, in other words, busy and determined.

To them, this was just another day. To me, however, everything felt different. It felt like walking backward into a world I thought I had left behind.

I told myself to calm down. I wasn’t here to get lost in nostalgia. I wasn’t here to d
