It was an unbearable silence.

Orion had rejected me.

I stood next to the window, arms crossed tightly over my chest, my nails digging into my skin as I tried to hold in my anger. He had just brushed me off like I was nothing—like I wasn’t his wife like I wasn’t the woman he once chased after with such hunger.
