Chapter 99. Don’t Tell Me You’re Soft
Layla’s POV
Grace’s expression froze as soon as she saw us. She still had her champagne glass in hand, her lips were curved like she had been laughing, but her eyes told a completely different story.
I saw it all, anger, shock, and bitterness flashed across her face instantly, and it was so quick that I couldn’t overlook it.
She straightened up and began walking toward us, her heels clicking on the marble floor echoing loudly. The sound broke through the music, making my stomach twist, though I kept my face calm and unreadable.
Grace’s face was tight with anger, even though she tried to disguise it with a faint smile. Her eyes gave her away, burning with fury as she walked closer to us.
People began to slowly step aside, acting like they weren’t paying attention, but I could tell they were watching Grace and me.
The room noise gradually dropped as conversations turned into low whispers and people began to concentrate on the drama unfolding.
