Chapter 12. Heart Flutter
"Don't move, Ina. I'm just going to check it," he said and lifted my foot, gently stretching it. "Does it hurt?" he asked while stretching it a bit.
"You're a doctor now in the profession? Ha! Only when you're dragging me around," I replied sarcastically.
"How difficult is it for you to say yes or no?" he asked, sounding irritated.
"And now you're annoyed!" I retorted.
"Who wouldn't be annoyed with you?" he asked. He seemed like he was about to pull my leg.
"Just get out. It doesn't hurt anymore," I said.
He just looked at me. "Are you sure?" he double-checked.
"Yes," I replied.
He scrutinized me for a moment before finally standing up. "Get out," I repeated when he lingered in the same spot, looking at me.
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," I said.
He sniffed and looked as though he was going to sit down next to me on the bed, but I pushed him away.
