Chapter 91. Wedding

"What are you doing here, Roy?" Carl asked.

I distanced myself from them.

"I have something to say. Are you free?" he asked again as he walked back towards us.

Carl shook his head. "I have a meeting," he replied.

"Just a minute?" Roy asked.

Carl let out a sigh and then turned to me. "Can you excuse us for a moment?"

I glanced at Roy briefly before reluctantly nodding to Carl's request. I had some reservations about leaving them alone, given our recent conversation, but I decided to step out.

Roy raised his left eyebrow at me as I held his gaze for a moment.

I shrugged and said goodbye to Carl. I had initially thought of waiting outside, but Roy closed the door, leaving me with no choice.
