Chapter 137

Valeria's POV

After we went swimming, we drove back. Or rather rowed, I didn't do so much as Alec did all the work, but we arrived safely back at the small jetty. Lo and behold, I'm still alive. Alec reattached the boat while I packed up everything. Then we walked back to the car together. On the way he took my hand repeatedly and this time, I didn't resist. I just let it happen without thinking about what impact it might have.

When we got to the car, he put everything in the trunk and got in. Since I was expecting us to drive back to the villa, I leaned against the window and closed my eyes. Even though it was only the afternoon, I was already pretty tired.

Just before I could nod off, a voice brought me back to reality. "There's no sleeping here yet."

I just replied with a "Hmm" and wanted to dive back into my dream world. But I was interrupted again.

"Are you hungry?"

"How? What?" I sat up and blinked a few times.
