Chapter 247

Xavier's POV

"Xander!" Noah shouted now, making me look behind me. "Xavier! Hold back!" He ordered me in his beta tone, walking purposefully toward me.

But I just laughed. "What are you doing here now?" I growled and looked deep into his eyes. He had respect for me, and we both knew that.

"You're not in your right mind right now! Rein in your wolf and then we'll sort it out inside. Away from the gossiping pack."

He left no room for repeating words, and even though he was the younger of the two of us, I changed my hand back and ran toward the pack house, still furious. When I got to my office, I downed two drinks in a row and waited for my beta and omega to arrive.

"Can this be a little faster?" I called out to both of them, who were whispering to each other in front of my office door. Shortly afterward, however, only my beta stepped in, which is why I had to rein in my inner wolf.

"Where is Noah?" I gritted out, looking at Xander
