Sometimes, Hadley found his erratic change of personality irritating. He acted cold towards her all day, and now he was back to his usual nosy self. She scoffed at him inwardly. Jethro had no idea how his silence almost killed her with suspense.
“Unfortunately, yes,” she sparingly answered as she opened the invitation.
“Really? When is it?” Jethro asked, quite thrilled.
Hadley’s eyebrow shot up as she looked at him suspiciously. “This coming weekend. The convention will last for three days starting this Friday,” she answered and followed by a question, “Why?”
“Well, you’re a respected figure in the field, and I don’t want to miss an opportunity to attend one of your talks,” Jethro charmingly explained.
“Can I tag along with you?” he sheepishly added.
Hadley was stunned. She and Jethro were going out of town and staying in the same hotel?
“I won’t attend,” she decided hastily.
Jethro frowned. “But why?”
He felt a bit disappointed
