Chapter 52. Love’s Third Law of Motion (1)
On the convention’s second day, Hadley, Jethro, and Kathleen had lunch at the hotel’s restaurant.
From everything that had happened to them a few nights ago until last night, everyone sat around one table, feeling awkward, and pretended to enjoy the buffet lunch served by the hotel.
Kathleen sat beside Jethro, distracting herself from the pressure of Hadley’s presence by taking care of her boyfriend. She wanted to evade having any interaction with Hadley at all costs, but this was how far she could go.
“You want more fresh fruits, Babe? I’ll get you some at the buffet table,” she told her boyfriend tenderly.
Hadley, on the other side, concentrated on her plate. She was facing Jethro but didn’t want their eyes to meet as much as possible. His confession last night was still vivid in her mind, causing her to have butterflies fluttering in her stomach.
