Chapter 36. I Miss You So Much

Nina POV

It has been a long time since Ryder left me here. He said he would be back, but I have yet to see him, not even a glimpse of his shoulder.

I stood up from the bed and walked straight to the open window, gazing outside. I could see the guards patrolling around, each vigilant in case of anything.

And the clouds were starting to darken.

“I miss him,” I said in my head and pouted. I sighed and closed the window, going back to sit on the bed. That’s when I heard a little voice that I had missed so much.

“He seems so different,” Leah said.

“Leah!” I gasped, freezing in my spot. My eyes were wide open in disbelief, with my mouth dropped. Is she... she just... She just spoke in my head right now.

“Nina,” her sweet, innocent voice sighed in my head, and I felt my heart throb before tears pooled up in my eyes.

I sniffed.

“Is it actually you, Leah?” My words trembled, and I felt her yawn.
