Chapter 6. A Search Party

Jake’s POV

I had lived with a curse for years, trying everything I could to break it. But nothing had worked, and I was starting to lose hope.

On that particular full moon, something felt different. As the transformation began, I felt a searing pain in my chest that was unlike anything I had experienced before. I felt like I was being ripped apart from the inside out.

The voices in my head grew louder and more insistent, driving me to the edge of madness. I ran deeper and deeper into the woods, desperate to escape the pain and the voices.

Suddenly, I found myself in front of a cave I had never seen before. It was dark and foreboding, but I felt drawn to it. I stumbled inside, my vision blurring as the transformation continued.

As I lay on the cold stone floor, the pain intensified and I could feel my body changing. My bones cracked and reformed, and my muscles and skin stretched and pulled.
