Chapter 46. Decision Made

Daisy’s POV

I saw Delilah’s face, her eyes wide with terror, her skin pale and clammy. She was trapped, confined in a dark and ominous place, struggling to break free.

I felt her desperation, her panic as if I was right there with her. My heart raced, my mind foggy, as if I was trying to shake off a thick fog. I had to act, to help her, I couldn’t see, couldn’t think straight.

All I knew was that Delilah was in trouble, and I had to do something, anything, to save her. I took a big stone and started hitting the padlock that they had used to lock where she was trapped.

But as the padlock was about to open, my eyes snapped open and I jolted upright, clutching to my head, my heart racing like a wild animal, and my breath caught in my throat.

My sheets were drenched with sweat, my skin clammy and cold. I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the haze, but the images lingered, haunting me. I could still feel the fear, the panic, the desperation.
