Chapter 12. Supporting My Bully
The idea of Tabitha doing something dangerous was too outlandish for me. Surely, she was an intelligent woman who understood the consequences of her actions. Austin was just being paranoid, and it was irksome. Having him over put him at risk with his father. It was unnecessary to me. However, I would be mistaken in the end.
We had just finished eating dinner when my phone went off. I saw it was Hammond calling me. I picked it up.
“Hello, Hammond,” I greeted.
“Edgar! Have you heard from Austin?” Hammond asked frantically.
“Yes, why? What’s going on?” I asked in confusion.
“Do you know where he is? His condo was broken into, and now he’s missing!” Hammond exclaimed. I blinked before looking at Austin.
“He’s not missing. He’s staying with me. He was worried that Tabitha might send some goons after us because of the outburst at the campus,” I explained. Hammond felt relieved.
“Thank God. I was so worried when I couldn’t get a hold of him,” Hammo
