Chapter 15. Falling for My Bully
Austin and I were escorted to my car by a police officer at the end of the day. Some students saw us as we walked, though once we waved to them, they looked less concerned.
“Thank you, officer,” I smiled at the officer when we came to my car. He blushed slightly and waved us off as we climbed into my car. I glanced over at Austin and saw he was scowling.
“What is with that face?” I asked.
“I do not like that officer,” Austin huffed.
“Why?” I asked him. He just glared out the window as I drove back to my house. I was used to the moments of quiet that existed between us, but this felt different.
When we arrived at my house, Mr. Keeler was nowhere to be seen, so we were able to head inside without having to worry about running into him for once. However, Austin seemed too preoccupied to even realize his surroundings. We entered my house, and I quickly addressed Austin.
“What is wrong?” I asked as I stood in front of him. He purposely averted his gaze
