The next day, I received a phone call from Dean Hammond early in the morning.
“Hello?” I answered a bit groggily.
“Good morning, Edgar. I am calling to tell you that Detective Garrison has found some troubling evidence about Tabitha. While I suspended her, he discovered that she is planning to hire someone to shoot you and Austin on campus today.”
“Oh my god!” I exclaimed.
“We decided to alert you and Austin and tell you not to come to campus today. Detective Garrison is instead going to plant two undercover officers as your look-alikes and hopefully capture her and the shooter in the act,” Hammond explained.
“What about the students?” I asked.
“We sent out an email about the humanities building experiencing some issues with the electricity, so all humanities classes are canceled for the day. I would not do anything to put our students in danger, but I understand the importance of helping Detective Garrison. So, I just need you two to stay home an
