Serena POV
For a moment, I froze. What was that? What did he just say? I was living like the wife of a president? He knew who Myles really was. What did he? Maybe he didn’t really mean the wife of a president as in biker gang related, and I was overthinking it.
“What do you want, Davies?” I asked, hoping I was doing a good job keeping my fear at bay.
“Nothing.” He shrugged with a faint smile. “You make it sound as if I’ve ever been a nuisance to you. I’m hurt.”
“You think you’re not?” I scoffed. “Remember that time you threw my husband into a police cell right after his house was destroyed and I was nearly killed in it?”
He shrugged again.
“What can I say? I was just doing my job. We got a tip that your husband was involved with some really shady people. We had to react swiftly. And talking about shady people…” He took a step closer and dropped his voice. “You should tell your husband to watch over his shoulders a lot.”
