Chapter 13
Candice had not been particularly friendly to her on the first day — or ever. Now, all of a sudden, she was acting as if they had always been best friends from day one.
Something didn’t sit right, but she pretended not to notice. She would just act as if she had never even experienced this encounter with Candice. However, during lunch, as she was trying to enjoy her sandwich, she scanned the company’s cafeteria and saw Candice viciously hunting for her until she was finally sitting right next to her.
She awkwardly greeted her, “Hey.” Candice, however, showed no awkwardness in her response, smiling from ear to ear, trying to insert herself into Cassandra’s lunch.
She had nothing to hide, but it was strange to see this personality from a woman who was constantly trying to get into her partner’s pants.
“I thought I would sit with you today since Damien isn’t around, and you’ll probably feel lonely,” Candice said, sounding friendly enough while focusing on her lu
