Chapter 18
[A few days later]
“Well, I’m not paying all of you to look stupid. How do you think I’m going to get my daughter back?”
Sylvester Torres looked at his men as he sat in his swivel chair in his home office. His gray eyes traveled from one perplexed man to another until he got up, growling from the bottom of his throat.
The scar on the side of his face seemed to sink in deeper every time he got angry, and at this point, it looked as if there was a fresh injury on his face all over again.
“Alpha Sylvester?” one of them finally spoke up, and the rest sighed in relief as his gaze left all of them and focused on the one who had spoken. He moved away from his mahogany desk towards the one brave enough to use his vocal cords in front of him.
“Maybe you should just allow your daughter to come when she wants to?” he suggested, his eyes looking towards the floor more than at the person he was speaking to.
Silence and tension quickly filled the office, thick
