Chapter 19
Damien rolled on his bed agitatedly; sleep was avoiding him as if they were now enemies, and he knew exactly why.
“Ugh!” he groaned, giving up on forcing himself into a slumber that would not even be peaceful. He rolled out of bed, threw off the duvet, and made his way out of his room, down the hallway, and over the stairs until he was just a few steps away from the kitchen.
He breezed over to the fridge and cracked the door open, looking for a bottle of milk. His search was not long or in vain, as he soon found it. As he took it out of the fridge, he noticed the liquor bottle right next to it, belonging to his father.
He needed something that would ease his nerves and numb his mind, maybe even put him to sleep. What better way to do that than alcohol? He sighed, looking left and right before he took out the bottle and held it to his chest, feeling the chill run down his spine through his pajamas.
