Chapter 21
Damien couldn’t go to either school or work that day because he was plagued by a terrible, raging headache that made his head feel like it was going to explode at any minute, and he almost finished an entire bottle of painkillers. As if that was not bad enough, his dad came into his room to scold him.
“Damien…” Davis rarely had to be so serious with his son because Damien was not the kind of child who needed to be disciplined all the time. Usually, he knew what to do, and he would behave quite well. But last night, he had behaved like a feral animal that had finally been released from his cage, experiencing a sudden breath of freedom he had not been expecting.
