Chapter 60. Drowning in a Sea of Tears
Samuel felt as if his heart had been stabbed and torn to shreds by the shocking fact that he couldn’t help but talk to Serena, who had been considered his biological daughter for ten years.
He felt stupid for being so easily lied to by Melanie for so long. Stupid for losing all her happiness by believing in Melanie’s trickery.
Meanwhile, Serena was frozen in place. A great surprise was evident in the clear eyes that usually always looked lovingly at Samuel.
“Serena’s friend said that not being a biological child means Serena is part of Papa’s family. If Serena is not part of this family, then who is Serena’s family?” Serena’s voice sounded shaky as she held back her tears, although in the end tears still rolled down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry Papa…” Samuel said poignantly. Reluctantly, Samuel gently wiped away Serena’s tears.
Serena then unraveled Samuel’s palm that cupped her face, then sat on her knees in front of Melanie, who was crying incessantly.
